My husband, at the age of 45, needed a hip replacement for a chronic hip condition. We were so very nervous about it all. Who wouldn't be? The thought of someone cutting off part of your bone to replace it with a mechanical part. We were worried if it would work, how much pain he would be in, etc. After much prayer, and prayers coming from around the globe (my mother in law who was in Ireland at the time), as well as an intercession request from Saint Luke; I am happy to report he is doing fabulous!
He was up and walking within in 8 hours with manageable and minimal pain (or I should say with not as much pain killers as he was allowed to take). The next day he showed off by doing the stairs as well as 4 laps. The third day, he surprised me by having his cousin, the Bishop of the Diocese of Boise, to come in to renew our marriage vows for our 15th wedding anniversary. Of course, I said yes again! My husband is still healing, but doing very well.
Other news....I have received my teaching certificate. Now I just need to student teach and apply for a job. Though I am still planning on teaching preschool for the Y in the inclusion preschool at the Elementary School this year until I do the student teaching. Sometime this summer I plan on finishing my Catechist Certificate. With all the crazy stuff going on, I had to put it on the back burner. I only have two seminars to do before I complete it. I plan on applying not only to the public schools, but our local Catholic Schools as well.
We still have a garden, but this year we are growing corn! I feel like such a farmer! Albeit a suburban one.
Sometimes life gets really busy and lot of crazy things go on. But I feel so blessed to be where I am in life and to have such a wonderful family!
